Countdown to Vacay! What's in My Travel Skincare Bag
In a few short days Angel and I will be off on a much needed vacation! Last vacation I shared with you 6 beauty essentials to pack in your weekend travel bag. We have a full 1.5 weeks planned so keeping my skincare in check is a must.
Nighttime Skincare Products
For cleanser, i’ll be packing my new fave, CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin. I’ve always been under the impression that your cleanser needs to have salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide and decided to give this one a try after watching Lustrelux’s skincare routine. Foaming cleansers usually make my skin feel dry and stripped of essential oils, but this one replenishes it.
For my nighttime toner i’m bringing my Neutrogena Oil Free Stress Control Toner and will follow it up by my must-have Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. For moisturizer i’m packing what’s left of my Belif Aqua Bomb (love this stuff!) It’s moisturizing like a night cream but light like a gel; super good for nighttime but I wouldn’t recommend it for daytime use. And of course you know I have to have my Kiehl’s Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment. If you suffer from dryness under your eyes, this stuff is magic! (I use it both day and night).
For exfoliating i’m packing my Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser to use on Mondays and Fridays and my Tatcha Polished Deep Rice Enzyme Powder to use on Wednesdays. (I do not play around with skincare people!) I’m also bringing along my Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil to remove makeup and use with the enzyme powder to give myself a mini facial.
Daytime Skincare Products
During the daytime I don’t use a cleanser to wash my face. I think i’ve mentioned this in a few of my Snapchats/Insta Stories, but I like using the leftover oil on my face as a “cleanser”. For daytime toner i’m packing my Sunday Riley Mattifying Melting Water Toner. For daytime moisturizer i’m bringing my other new fave, Tarte Drink of H2o. THIS. STUFF. IS. AMAZING. One of the girls at my Sephora also has oily skin and said she lives by this stuff. I tried a sample and loved that it’s a light, cooling gel-moisturizer. Great for wearing it under makeup or without makeup.
Last but not least i’ll definitely be packing my Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen. I love this one because 1) I love geishas 2) I love Tatcha and its boss lady, Victoria 3) this stuff is amazing at brightening the skin and diffusing the look of large pores without clogging it. I also love that it’s mattifying. Most sunscreens leave an oily residue making it hard for makeup to stick throughout the day, but this one doesn't. Vicky also did an amazing job at describing the product’s inspiration which is another reason why I felt inclined to buy it. It was a pretty pricey impulse buy for me, but if you don’t mind the price you won’t regret the purchase!
That’s pretty much all i’ll be packing in my travel skincare bag (I say that's all as if i'm packing 5 things, lol 😅). If you have any sheet mask recommendations i’d love to hear about it. You can also keep up with us on our vacation by following me on Instagram and Snapchat at @jessmahina.
