Weekend Reading / 7

This week was an emotional one, no? I'm a bit more calm than I was three days ago and i'm still a bit speechless. But if there is one thing I've learned is that now is the time to come together and do work. The election is what it is and we can either live in disgust hating and blaming each other for the next four years, or we can be optimistic and get involved with moving our country forward. I'm choosing to be more kind, loving, and understanding and while that may not happen every.single.day ... I'll at least know that I tried. I love you all and am so thankful to have loving and supportive people in my life.

That said, here's a roundup of some good reads. Thanks for stopping by and i hope you all are having an amazing holiday weekend! - Jessika

Loving Grace's recent beauty faves

This simple yet detailed silk tank is beautiful and I would totes wear it to work with a cardigan and culottes. More on this tank on Annie Reeve's blog

Jess over on The Golden Girl shares her favorite blushes. What's yours? A staple blush in my collection is Mac's 'Gingerly', but my current favorite is Mac's 'Warm Soul' (more on that here)

This election has been a nasty one. And while I don't feel comfortable posting anything political here, Grace was courageous enough to post her thoughts on what *I think* most of us are thinking.

A friend of mine has been dealing with some anxiety and I shared with her some tips that have been helping me. One of my favorites? Thinking of 1-3 good things that happened to me this week. Those happy thoughts pull me back into right now and keep me grounded.

I'm a huge believer in keeping work at work. If you have a hard time separating your work from your personal life. Here are some tips from The Bloguettes.

Can't wait to get my hands on Nasty Galaxy, Sophia Amoruso's latest book on how to leave your brand on everything you touch. Here's Career Girl Daily's review on it. I haven't read #GirlBoss yet; have you? Is it worth the read?
