Sultry Valentine's Day Eye Makeup Tutorial

It’s been a hot minute since my last makeup tutorial (sorry!) but what better way to make a comeback than with a Valentine’s Day makeup look? Today i’m using lots of rose golds and purples and we are also attempting a halo eye. Yes girl - we are doing big things in 2017. 🙌🏽

Keep reading to learn how to create this sultry Valentine’s Day eye makeup look.

Using the Tartelette in Bloom palette for this sultry Valentine's Day eye makeup tutorial on

Note: I’m using the Tartelette in Bloom Palette to create this look, but feel free to use any similar eyeshadows from your makeup collection to create this sultry Valentine’s Day makeup.

To start, i’m going to prime my lids with the Mac 24-Hour Extend Eye Base and set it with translucent powder. Then i’m going define my crease using a small, fluffy blending brush and this dusty rose color (Sweetheart) from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. I’m applying the color directly to my crease but i’m also going to buff the edges up toward my brow bone and onto my lid.

Next using the warm brown-red color from the same palette (Rebel), i’m going to lightly apply it to my lid using a flat shader brush and patting motions. This will act as the base for my coppery rose gold color. Using the same brush, pat the coppery rose gold color from the palette (Firecracker) onto Rebel. I am taking this color way up into my crease; semi cutting it to create that separation between crease color and lid color.

Using a tapered eyeshadow brush, pick up that warm purple shade from the palette (Leader) and slowly build the color into your outer v and inner v. Be patient and slowly build and blend this color in. I like to go between applying the warm purple and coppery rose gold shades to help better blend it together.

After you’ve reached your desired sultry-ness (not a real word), go back with a clean, fluffy blending brush and blend all of the harsh edges out. In between this step and the next I like to apply mascara, foundation, concealer, and setting powder. For this makeup look i’m using the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick. While i’m baking, I apply my false lashes. Once you’re done doing that, take a pencil brush and blend the warm brown-red color (Rebel) into your lash line. Then blend that color out with the coppery rose gold shade (Firecracker). Lastly, highlight the inner corners of your eye with a shimmery nude color (Funny Girl).
