What you’ll need:
- Curling iron/wand with a 1-1 1/4” barrel
- Texturizing spray or dust to create lift at roots
- Bobby pins
- Light/medium hold hair spray
To start, you’ll want to give your hair some texture by curling it with a 1-1 1/4” curling wand or barrel. Peep my beachy waves hair tutorial to see my technique. When you’re done curling, spritz short bursts of texturizing spray or apply texturizing dust onto your roots and scrunch and tousle roots to create volume. For more texture and piecey strands, apply a dime size amount of pomade to the ends of your hair.
When you’re done creating texture, you’re going to a create voluminous half up, half down look starting above your ears. Push up near the crown to create volume and pin down with bobby pins. If you don't have enough volume at the crown you can slowly pull the pieces up and out or you can lightly tease the crown before putting it up.
Quick tip: Face the bobby pins with the ridges down to lock the pins into place.
Next, separate the bottom half of your hair into three sections. Roll the middle section up into a low chignon and pin it hiding the bobby pins in the chignon. Use as many bobby pins as you need as this will be the base of this look.
Criss cross the remaining two sections over each other and bobby pin tucking the ends into the chignon and pinning. Pull small pieces out around face to create that romantic vibe and that’s it! So super easy, right?
