Beauty Haul! Kylie Cosmetics, MAC, Pixi by Petra, Hourglass Cosmetics, and KoKo Lashes!
I’m a creature of habit; Once I find something that works for me, I usually buy it 2-3 more times then i’ll get sick of it and try something new. So before the year ended I splurged on items that have been on my beauty waitlist for a while.
After waiting v patiently for the hype to die down I finally got my hands on the Kylie Cosmetics The Bronze Palette. I love that the eye shadows are buildable and easy to blend. I've only been playing with this Palette for 3 days now and I know it's one I'll be reaching for it a lot during the work week. So super cute for soft brown (day time) smokey eyes!
I also ordered ‘Like’ and ‘Literally’ (left) from the Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss line. The glosses look thick, but it feels light and smooth. It’s not sticky like other glosses I own. I also like that it has a smell, but i’m not a huge Red Vines lover and that is exactly what the glosses smell like. Of the two glosses, ‘Literally’ is my fave!
I tend to shop at MAC in spurts and this time it was for oily skin help. This time I picked up the Skin Refined Zone Treatment to help mattify my skin under makeup. I apply a smaller than a dime-size amount and vigorously apply it to my t-zone. Then I let it dry while I do my eyebrows. Letting it dry is the key to making your skin look matte and poreless. 🗝
I also picked up the Mineralized Charged Water Hydrating Mist to set my makeup (this smells sooo good! … like green tea and apples!) and the Bronzing Powder in ‘Refined Gold’. I prefer matte bronzers but the sheer, bronzey color + specks of gold shimmer makes for the perfect natural, bronzey look without looking muddy or orange.
From the drugstore i’ve been loving on Pixi by Petra’s Hydrating Milky Mist. In December I was experiencing weird combination/oily skin and didn’t want to switch up my moisturizer so I bought the Hydrating Milky Mist after hearing how much Iluvsarahii loves it for her dry skin. The price is more high-end drugstore ($15.99 here in Hawaii) but it is sooo good! I use it as a light moisturizer after toner and before face oil and i’ll sometimes use it in the morning for a quick refresh. Obvs I love it so much that I already repurchased my second bottle. 💁🏽
I finally treated myself to the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation and it has been the best stick cream foundation I’ve owned. Unlike other stick cream foundations, this one melts right into the skin versus sitting on the skin making it look oily versus dewy. I don’t wear this everyday but more for special occasions or if I need to run out of the house real quick but need to look presentable. If you have oily skin like me and want to learn how to make cream foundation work for you, check out my post on how to wear cream foundations when you have oily skin.
Last but not least I restocked on KoKo Lashes! I bought ‘Misha’ and ‘Queen B’ and I can’t wait to start wearing it. I love my lash extensions for a few reasons, but I also miss wearing different style of false lashes, cleaning/rubbing my eyes, and sleeping on my face.
